Goodbye Summer, welcome Autumn!

Summer is about to say goodbye, which is kind of sad, because Summer is probably my favorite season of the year. But, I am also looking forward to Autumn and Winter: cold weather, means warm sweaters, cozy knits, candles, tea and a relaxing time with the ones you love the most!

I have had a wonderful Summer! First I graduated from high school and we had a lot of parties, then I was in Turkey with my family (the 2 first pictures), then I was at a danish music festival and in summer house with 3 of my best friends in the whole world, and in the end I was one month in Oxford at an english course with the organisaton Education First (EF).

I hope all of you out there have had an amazing Summer, and are ready for the Autumn to come.

Back home in Denmark!

This Saturday I came back home to Denmark again. I felt so sad to say goodbye to all my friends from the EF school in Oxford, and I already miss them a lot. It has been such a pleasure to meet sweet people from all around the world, and I can’t wait to visit them in their countries once!

But it was amazing to come back home to my family and my boyfriend again, I have missed them SO much. Unfortunately I have caught a cold, so right now I am just in my bed, under my duvet, watching tv, reading magazines and filling myself with a lot of hot tea!

In the pictures you can see some stuff from my room, and in the 2nd picture you can see the most awesome bag I bought in the lovely “Blackwell” bookstore in Oxford, with the quote: “A house without books, is like a room without windows” – love it!

People from all around the world

verdenskort

Sweden, Norway, Germany, Czech Republic, Turkey, Holland, Finland, Belgium, France, Spain, Russia, China, Japan, Colombia, Paraguay, Venezuela, Italy, Turkey, Austria and Schwitzerland!

While staying here in Oxford, for just 1 month, I have met people from all these different countries, and it is incredible to meet all these different people and learn about the cultures.

For instance I have learned that people in Japan eat rice for breakfast, that people in Spain and Italy normally just eat dinner at 9-9.30pm, my prejudices about Italians using hand gestures a lot have been confirmed when my Italian friend opened her Coca Cola after have been using hand gesture (= Cola everywhere), in many countries they uses “cheek kisses” but it changes for how many kisses all after which country you are in. Well, I have learned a lot of things while staying here in Oxford and I am going to miss all my new friends here when I go back home to Denmark, but I really miss my friends, family and boyfriend back in Denmark too!

Christ Church

This dinning hall is the inspiration to the dinning hall in the Harry Potter movies

And this staircase is actually the staircase from the 1st Harry Potter movie, right before the new students enter the dinning hall in Hogwarts for the first time!

If you go to Oxford you should visit Christ Church, it is such a beautiful building (and it is amazing if you are an Harry Potter fan like me)

In this above building they filmed the Hospitality scenes from the Harry Potter movies, so cool! (Exeter College)

The beautiful Magdalen College

And here you have the Queens College.

As you can see I have been doing sightseeing in Oxford today with my friends (from Sweden, Japan, Italy and Spain). Oxford has 38 colleges and 2 universities. And most of the colleges you can visit for free, and they are all very beautiful. Just a little note if you ever come to Oxford and want to see some beautiful buildings! And if you want a view over the whole city, go to the top of St Mary Church Tower, it only costs £4.

The Best Greetings from
